Retaining Rings, Snap Rings, Circlips, E-Rings

Retaining ring is a fastener that holds components or assemblies onto a shaft or in a housing/bore when installed in a groove. A circlip, also known as a C-Clip, Seeger ring, snap ring or Jesus clip, is a type of fastener or retaining ring consisting of a semi-flexible metal ring with open ends which can be snapped into place, into a machined groove on a dowel pin or other part to permit rotation but to prevent lateral movement.

There are two basic types: internal and external, referring to whether they are fitted into a bore or over a shaft. Circlips are often used to secure pinned connections. The common types of internal circlips are DIN471 external circlip for shaft, DIN472 interal circlip for bore. More machinery components, like DIN5417 Bearing snap rings, DIN9045, DIN7993 wire snap rings and customized snap rings.

  • DIN471 External Circlip
  • DIN472 Internal Circlip
  • DIN7993 Snap Rings
  • Other C Clips & Rings

For various usage, the snap rings or c clips, e rings can be made by carbon steels, alloy steels, CK75, C70, 65Mn spring steels, SS302, SS304 stainless steel.
